Jackson County (WI) Democratic Party

Protecting Democracy, One Vote at a Time!

United by Common Goals

Things We're Fighting For:
  • Your **earned** benefits! You've paid into Medicare, Social Security, and Disability your entire working life; these programs should be there for you when you need them!
  • Programs That Protect! Our most vulnerable populations count on the availability of Medicaid/BadgerCare, SSI, SSDI, and FoodShare.
  • Affordable Health Care! Access to affordable health insurance keeps medical costs down for ALL Americans. This includes affordable prescription coverage. No WI resident should have to choose between a rent or utility payment -even food!- and the cost of their medications!
  • Child- and Elder-Care! Jackson County is a Child- and Elder-Care Desert; access to these services is almost non-existent! Folks need to be able to continue to work with peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are in good hands!
  •  Affordable Transportation/Public Transit! Not only do folks need to be able to continue to work, but business owners need to be able to maintain their workforces!
  • Rural Internet/Broadband/Cellular Phone Access! Schoolwork is submitted online - our children need internet access to do/submit homework! Small businesses often operate from home! The importance of internet /broadband/cell phone access cannot be underscored enough!

Unity with the Community!

Jackson County, WI, is located in rural, southwestern Wisconsin, founded in 1853. We are home to approximately 20,000 people. Our largest employer is the Ho-Chunk Nation, the People of the Sacred Voice.

*A third of us have children under the age of eighteen living at home;
*Half of us are married;
*Twenty-five percent of us are caring for or providing financial support to a senior parent/s, while working! [https://wisconsincaregiver.org]

We have four self-acclaimed haunted ghost towns (Charter Oak Mills, Clay, Rogneys, and Wrightsville), and dozens of “live” small villages and townships, with such colorful names such as Shamrock, Disco (yes, like the dance!), Chili, Sand Pillow, and Pray!

Our County Seat is Black River Falls, which is also the Seat of the Ho-Chunk Nation. We are a county chock-full of small communities where honesty, loyalty, and hard work are valued.
