United by Common Goals
Things We're Fighting For:
|
Unity with the Community!
Jackson County, WI, is located in rural, southwestern Wisconsin, founded in 1853. We are home to approximately 20,000 people. Our largest employer is the Ho-Chunk Nation, the People of the Sacred Voice.
*A third of us have children under the age of eighteen living at home;
*Half of us are married;
*Twenty-five percent of us are caring for or providing financial support to a senior parent/s, while working! [https://wisconsincaregiver.org]
We have four self-acclaimed haunted ghost towns (Charter Oak Mills, Clay, Rogneys, and Wrightsville), and dozens of “live” small villages and townships, with such colorful names such as Shamrock, Disco (yes, like the dance!), Chili, Sand Pillow, and Pray!
Our County Seat is Black River Falls, which is also the Seat of the Ho-Chunk Nation. We are a county chock-full of small communities where honesty, loyalty, and hard work are valued.
